HP launches laptop with 24-hour battery
HP has announced it has achieved an unprecedented milestone in mobile computing: up to 24 hours of continuous notebook operation on a single battery charge.
In conformity with an industry-standard benchmark test, the new HP EliteBook 6930p can be configured to be used with an optional ultra-capacity battery to deliver up to 24 hours of battery runtime.
"The launch of the new 6930 series from HP finally addresses the battery life issue on business notebooks, enabling users to work for long periods without the need of regular battery recharges and exchanges," Etienne Borg Cardona, managing director of FGL Information Technology Limited, a subsidiary of the Forestals Group, said.
Designed and tested to last, HP batteries benefit from a combination of HP engineering and energy-efficient notebook components, such as Intel® solid-state hard drives (SSD) and mercury-free LED displays.
For example, the highly efficient HP Illumi-Lite LED display boosts battery run time by up to four hours compared to traditional LCD displays, while the Intel SSD provides up to a seven per cent increase in battery life compared to traditional hard drives.
Like any notebook, battery life will vary depending on the product model, configuration, loaded applications, features, and power management settings. The maximum capacity of the battery will decrease with time and usage.
Inspired by aircraft construction and designed for style-conscious mobile professionals, HP EliteBook notebooks feature the latest mobile technologies. And from November, customers will be able to purchase an HP EliteBook with the new Intel high-performance SSDs - HP is a launch customer for new Intel X25-M and X18-M Mainstream SATA SSDs.
In addition to helping achieve outstanding battery life, these new Intel SSDs provide greater durability and reliability and faster system responsiveness. Internal HP benchmarks show overall performance boosts of up to 57 per cent on industry benchmarks, and data transfer rates almost six times faster than traditional hard disks.
The initial Energy Star - qualified HP EliteBook 6930p configuration starts at only 2.1 kg. It features a 14.1-inch diagonal widescreen display and is available with an optional, mercury-free Illumi-Lite LED display.
To ensure the highest levels of battery life, customers need to buy the Ultra Capacity Battery and download the latest Intel graphics driver and HP BIOS. The notebook must be configured with the optional Intel 80 GB SSD drive and the HP Illumi-Lite LED Display. It requires the Microsoft Windows XP operating system.

iPod Battery Life?
We all know that the iPod battery life isn’t the greatest but it is good enough that I don’t think it is a major issue.
My Current battery stats:
Usage - 5 Hours, 49 Minutes
Standby - 2 Days, 2 Hours
with about 25% left
I actually think that is quite good. Probably better than what I have seen previously with my iPod. I used it for a lot of texts, some browsing, some calls, some music. Not bad since I haven’t plugged it in for over two days now.
There are many ways to save your battery life as well. One major way is to turn down the screen brightness. Another way is to turn of the ‘Ask to Join Networks’ in Wifi settings. Of course using Wifi, Bluetooth, watching youtube etc, will all drain your battery faster.
There was a rumor going around that turbosim, stealth sim, etc. caused your battery to drain faster. Since I have had first hand experience with it, I would say that it does make a difference without it. I was getting less usage and standby time before when I did have the turbosim in.
The averages were:
Usage - 3 to 4 hrs
Standby - 1.5 days
Obviously I am doing better than that now.
One more tip: I’ve noticed that the battery tends to last a little longer when I leave it plugged in beyond when it appears to be full on the screen. I usually leave it plugged in overnight and get more usage and standby than when I charge it for a couple hours during the day even though it does look fully charged.
Overall I think the iPod battery is sufficient. It is not unreasonable to have to charge your phone once every 2 days. What are the stats on your battery life? Leave a comment and let me know.

2. Brightness of your screen should be low.
3. Cut down the programe running background.
